In the 17th year since the declaration of the human genome announcement at the White House in 2001, science that unravels the mechanism and function of life has started to make remarkable progress along with ICT transformation that is developing exponentially. By that transformation, social structural layers have begun to fuse and spread globally. As a result, a breath of fresh air is emerging in the field of healthcare and medical treatment, which is consist of independent social structure in the past.
Amid this change, in the “Bio” industry, multifaceted business development, which is different aspects from the past, is beginning to take place in. On one hand, in the field of ICT, deep learning and AI has appeared in many ways as rising stars by the influence of media recently, but on the other hand there are many situations what they can do is not understood. Particularly ICT as a point of contact between medical, bioscience and our society, it is necessary to recognize the problem and fill up a large gap between ICT and those fields in order to build a true ecosystem.
Therefore, this time we will focus on the integration of Healthcare and ICT, specifically situation of utilization for those technologies and biobank application in Finland both of which are the world’s top level. In order to unravel the future of the new health care and life science, and the issues of those in Japan, we will organize this symposium with the presentations and the panel discussion to review the advantage and the problem of the relation between Healthcare and ICT technology.
